How do i make my brother stop smoking weed?
December 6th, 2009 | by Jeff Trikoleti |
Ok, i had a long talk with my younger brother who lied about quitting on smoking pot, and he finally agreed he would stop since he realized what was different about him. I don’t want him to go back on the pot, and i was just wondering if there was anything i can do for him to occupy himself so he won’t do it anymore. How can i keep him motivated, and etc?
Mike,
He’ll only stop smoking if he feels that it’s hurting him. Does HE feel that the smoking is effecting his social relationships, his school work, or his job? You, unfortunately, can’t motivate him. All you can do is encourage him to hang out with people who don’t smoke. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make the horse drink. The same concept applies to your brother.

well i would to threaten him, say you will tell your parents and stuff. Smoking weed isnt bad but since it is illegal he shouldnt do it. Once he gets caught then he will realize that you were trying to help him and he will feel guilty. If he continues to smoke try to monitor him and make sure he doesnt do anything stupid. I have done it a few times in the past but i realized that it is stupid and a waste of money. A lot my friends blow a hell lot of money on it every week and that money can be used on other things. Especially if he is using his parents money to spend on weed. Maybe you should take his money away from him or steal it temporarily, if he doesn’t have any money he can’t smoke pot and his friends won’t pay for him every time. You are the older brother try to take charge or help him at least. Hopes this will help.

U can not make him DO anything.. he has to want to DO it for himself
so..
take him and show him some results of where it will get him..
like call the courts system.. or school.. for videos or library
he must have some deep seeded problem, perhaps he needs to
talk w/ a therapist..?
he is trying to be one of his peers.. for low self esteem..?
U have to get to the bottom of his problems.. or this is gonna cuz
him.. and your family big problems..
good luck
