How do I get my brother to stop smoking marijuana?

My brother is a 17 year high school senior. My mom and i recently found out that he’s smoking pot. My mom has threatened to take his car away and punish him, but i think that will make things worst. Can anyone help me, thanks.
I personally know very successful pot-smokers and it doesn’t seem to affect him in school. I just hate seeing my mom hurt, she hates him doing it. I know for a fact that my mom will NOT report him to the cops.

whats the big deal? pot doesnt hurt his mental capabilities or anything except maybe a small percentage of lung capacity (about 2%). Okay i can see why telling him not to do it so he doesnt get arrested makes sense but any other reason is kind of ridiculous. If he goes to college hes just going to do it again because a lottt of people smoke there. But if threatening him with punishment hasnt worked then not much else is probably going to affect his way of thinking

    short of imprisoning him in his bedroom, I doubt there is much you can do to prevent him using pot. I think mom has the right idea tho’, he needs to learn that there are consequences for his behavior and losing his driving privilege might make him think that pot isn’t worth that. Frankly, when I found my son had pot, I called the police and turned him in, he spent thirty days in jail, and never smoked again. Now he is a decorated war hero from Iraq and Afghanistan and I am imminently proud of him… but he was smart enough to learn from his mistakes, is your brother?

    Like the other person said. Report him to the police. It will make him change his ways seeing what drugs can get him into.

    It’s normally at his age, The Majority of smokers usually fade out of it after college.
