I started to get panic attacks when i smoke weed so i stopped and haven't smoked for almost 2 months now but all my mates still smoke and i really want to do it on the odd occasion, i want to know if taking xanax before i smoke will do anything to stop the panic attacks from happening
wtf would you want to smoke weed if it gives you panic attacks? dont feel obligated to smoke weed just because your friends are.

I've got a great solution to your problem.
It works really well to ease those panic attacks.
Much better than Xanax.
You can get it anywhere, it's real cheap too.
STOP SMOKING IT.

I also have suffered panic attacks from smoking weed. For me, it was usually when I was using alcohol as well or smoking a lot- like every day. Sometimes it actually seemed to be related to the type of weed itself which made me wonder if something had been added to it. Back to your question, Xanax being an anti-anxiety drug would probably help since panic attacks generally begin with anxiety. I would also consider the strength of the weed, the higher the level of THC, the more likely you will have a reaction. Personally, I found that smoking less often and smoking less when I did smoke stopped the panic attacks. Hope this helps…

Seriously, this is how people end up in rehab.
Xanax is VERY VERY addictive. You will now be addictive to 2 drugs instead of one.
Get help to help yourself today. Get new friends if you have to. Love yourself enough to do this….good luck my friend.

First off, mixing xanax with anything is going to have side effects, and they typically won’t be good. Marijuana is a depressant and if you experience anxiety attacks while smoking it continuing to smoke it can lead to depression. In your case, you obviously aren’t experiencing the drug the same way your friends do so I see no fun that, you’ll be a buzz kill.
Marijuana however is NOT an addictive drug physically. It can create a physiological addiction but you need to be strong minded when fighting a craving. The word “no” is pretty powerful, use it.
Both drugs alter brain chemicals and your nervous system, mixing the two might give you a different high and you will probably become very fatigued… that’s because your body is trying to offset the drugs and return to normal. Avoid the long term effects, pick one or the other.

I get panic attacks if I smoke weed too.
I smoked daily for about 6 yrs, and spent a year getting anxiety from it.
Just quit, your brain doesn’t like it any more, it has stopped being fun, so why keep it up?!

ALOT, and i mean ALOT of people who have used weed in excess, through highschool/whenever they did eventually it changes. At one time you were probably in the zone on weed, able to focus and be more creative. I bet now when u smoke, the panic attacks hit at the peak, and subside as you come down, but you dont feel that creativity..it makes u feel retarded and out of it now right? take it from me, all hullucinigencis will eventually if used enough cause anxiety problems that are permanent..IN SOME USERS. after having been a pothead/shroom head blah blah i know. your going to get a panic attack everytime you smoke now, and on the rare occasion u dont w/e, you probably experience more paranoia as well. Well i used to be in the army, because of my drug use i developed heavy social anxiety/generalized anxiety and depression from those sort of drugs, i had to be discharged. i then moved to opiates…oh so so blissfull they were, until u start taking 10 pills every 4 hours for mediocre effects. Living hell to get off of, i recently became clean, and it sucks dude, IT SUCKS, everyday is boring, nothing is entertaining and the dopamine in my brain is shot to shit, anything most people would enjoy i just go eh, i spent 4 days sleeping this week. some people are actually healed with marajuana, the MINUTE you start getting panic attacks, its time to stop…and honestly its time to stop all drugs. i know plenty of people who live successfull lives using all sorts of shit, but you know what, they never got panic attacks from them. Your brain changes, and if uve used it enough your body doesnt want you to use it anymore. IT WILL FUCKING CAUSE ANXIETY DISORDER and PARANOIA outside of drugs use. thats a fact.

Anxiety Panic Reaction is the worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. I have never been a pot head, just used to smoke after a number of months occasionally. Anxiety panic reactions are very dangerous as they make you reason irrationally and therefore you do things that put your life at risk. The first time I got an attack I tried to drive myself to hospital and I ended up in an ugly car accident, almost lost my life. The second time I got it was a confirmation that my body and brain have just said NO!!! to weed. I fought with security guards and lost complete control of myself while trying to get myself to hospital again. I still can’t believe that it is possible to feel such fear as what i felt in those two events, it was horrible. Now I know that if I smoke weed, the fact that I fear getting the panic attack will cause me to actually get it. Truth is because the anxiety builds up more and more as you loose control of yourself the effects may cause you to finally go nuts and end up in a mental institution or the increased heartbeat may actually cause heart related complications causing a something like a heart attack.
