I COMPLETELY understand what you’re about to go through… I’ve officially, "quit" smoking for ab out 2 weeks now. I’ve slipped up here and there but I’m doing okay, I guess.

My best advice would be to get the motovation to do so. My sister told me there is some classes that I think most health departments have… you can sign up for that and you can get free patches/gum and support to help you quit. I don’t know if your area has that though.

Think of all the money you’ll save if you quit. That’s my main motovation for kicking the habit. I’m bribing myself and letting myself do something nice after a month is up. Then I’m going to go for 6 months… etc etc.

I’ve heard a lot of people who had good luck with Chantix…

The most interesting method I have heard was to have a glass of water before every cigarrette.

If you smoke one pack a day, that’s 20 glasses of water… most people won’t drink that much… it might help you cut down at least.

Address the areas where you HAVE to smoke… if you smoke when you drink, stop drinking for awhile. If you smoke when you are on the computer or watching television, try to switch to another activity if at all possible. If you smoke when you drive, make yourself pull over and smoke the cigarrette, I bet you won’t smoke as much.

    Good luck. It’s not easy.
