Laser Therapy For Quitting Smoking

Using laser therapy to quit smoking has some grandeur associated with it. Laser! The very name inspires! Fortunately, from the practical point of view, laser treatment has proved to be very effective. You are introduced to this system recently, and it has been liked by most of the people.

Factually speaking, laser therapy is old wine in the new bottle. Certain nerve centers in the body act as pressure points. By treating those points, you can cause or encourage certain changes in the body. Many disciplines, like reflexology and acupuncture use this principle. Each pressure point, when treated, gives known results.

The same principle is applied to treat you of smoking habit. In laser treatment, specific points in your body are treated with low intensity laser beam. You need not wait long for the result. You find the degree of your smoking cravings drop substantially with immediate effect.

But don’t be overjoyed. Reduction in the cravings does not mean that you have quit smoking. You have just begun the journey. But a very good point about laser therapy is that it has no side effects. Such a fast reduction in the cravings is itself an achievement. Laser therapy has to be clubbed with another therapy known as behavioral therapy, to get the optimum results.

Behavioral therapy helps to eliminate the psychological cravings of your smoking addiction. The laser gives the blow to the Nicotine addiction. With these double blows, the effect will not be injurious, and you will emerge victorious!

So, are you convinced about the laser therapy treatment? Now, you need to come to the practical aspects of it. Laser therapy could be quite expensive. So, compare the rates of some of the best clinics. Check the rates in your State, whether the treatment cost is covered under the health insurance. In many cases, laser therapy however may not produce the desired results, so give equal importance to the behavioral therapy as well.

Don’t forget your will power. It is not the laser beam, but it’s about you who have to quit smoking! Laser treatment will give you the initial support and you own the resultant enthusiasm. But your job is not done. You need to maintain the level of enthusiasm and firm up the decision to quit smoking for ever.

So, let your laser therapy treatment, also known as LLLT (low level laser therapy) start on a positive note. The relevant nerve centers thought that they are the beneficiaries of something pleasurable, when you smoked. Now they will experience the real pleasure, when you say farewell to your smoking for ever!

What is your take on laser therapy for quitting smoking?
I'm curious about this therapy. I hope to get some answers from people who have tried it. I've done a little bit of research but haven't come up with too much on it and find that the success rate varies from clinic to clinic. The one here claims a 95% success rate and another (I'm not sure of the location) boasts a mere 60%.
lol nobody points a laser in your eye. It's just acupuncture via low powered laser beams.

So what happens? Does somebody shoot a laser in your eye if they catch you smoking?

I truly believe that to quit smoking is only successful when you do it cold turkey.
No laser, patches gum or such are needed.
When you are ready ,you can quit.
When you say , "I'll try to quit" , you have already failed.
To use any gimmicks out there ,you will only make the developers of "lasers, acupuncture, gums and patches,etc.",richer.
If all that stuff worked, there would be no smokers, just like all the diet pills and wonder drugs out there. Why are there still fat people?
Because those pills and things don't work.If you take anything like that you will rely on those to do the work for you.You have to be ready and willing to quit.
Your mind works, that is the key.
I quit a 3 pack a day habit in 1990,cold turkey. Not saying it was easy , but I believe that is the only way.It may not work for everybody, but it did for me and numerous others I personally know. Most of them have tried various "helpful remedies" and have failed.
    So,to answer your question , I don't think laser therapy works .
    Good luck

don't bother. It's not FDA approved, and the FDA has been trying to close down these clinics.

The FDA has in fact approved certain lasers in the United States. For example the Apollo Portable, which is the most powerful and popular cold laser on the market was the first Class 4 Laser approved by the FDA. If you are not certain that the clinic or Dr’s office you are going to is using an FDA approved product. Just ask. Any company approved by the FDA will be able to provide you with the FDA approval documentation.

Also, there is great research out that shows laser therapy has worked for thousands of patients. Like any newer treatments, you will always run into to skeptics. Do you research online or call a local office and they may be able to provide you with supporting research. Like any medical procedures or medicine, there is no proven product or medicine that works for every single person. That is why some people can take an antibotic and get better and others only get worst. You have to know that nothing on this planet works on every single person. But you can trust that with the overal high success rate of these treatments you have a better chance of them working for you.
