I quit smoking cigarettes for about 6 months?

June 28th, 2009 | by Jeff Trikoleti |

I smoked on and off/occasionally for about 2-3 years. i just quit this new years n was wondering if it would be bad if i smoked one more cig. i won't smoke another after this one

also, does smoking marijuana cause lung cancer or anything?

I smoked for 6 years. I haven't smoked a cig in 16 days. Marajuana has helped me so much these past couple of weeks. Go with the green.

no. you can't have just one. if you have this one then it'll be just two and then just 4.. trust me that is the mistake that almost every addict faces. just be strong.

marijuana can cause some lung complications; anything that you smoke is not going to be good for your lungs. however, marijuana has many positive effects on the body, while cigs are just bad. and besides, marijuana is just better! it is best to not smoke anything, but if you have to, marijuana is a better choice than cigs if consumed in reasonable amounts.

don't try to do that. if you start again then it will become a regular habit. so don't do that again

under no circumstances, should you give into that "one final cigarette". this is the hardest part of the addiction, but it is just that. if you can beat this, you'll be golden. you can do it.

I’ve tried just about every method there is out there with zero success.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest and the most fattening, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.
Eventually a friend told about a NLP method, check out this article http://www.squidoo.com/Not_Smoking_Any_More
It’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD even without gaining weight! :)
    Good luck kicking the habit!

electronic cigarettes occupy the hands- are reminiscent of taste (but not the same) but you really miss the real taste and smell. beats the hell out of gum and patches for sure as you get that lung/heart transferred insta brain “hit” that smoking gives. + its a similar yet altered experience which you can adjust to in 2 weeks very easy.–also can sleep and it doesn’t impede with the lung cleansing process (while using e-cigs I have regained my smell, taste and also proceeded hacking out crap as usual when you quit normally for a week or more)

I’m 4 weeks in (RECORD) and I took a single marlboro light cigarette from my girlfriend. The last cigarette mental snydrome got the better of me and you know what…I’m glad it did. It TASTED HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Seriously what was coming out of the filter was bitter mouth drying and tasted like some cleaning chemical fumes. Stand in a closet with a bucket of bleach and breathe through your mouth if you wanna know….

I am so glad I got this new perspective because it has only reaffirmed my decision to stay quit. It wasn’t enjoyable, I didn’t get a buzz because my e-cig provided enough and the smell was lingering and though not unpleasant it was not good either.

I’m not 100% free yet but I am looking at things with a shiny new pair of eyes and I can’t explain to you how different things are once you ean yourself some breathing room. It is like an old nintendo game- you may spend a lifetime trying to beat contra unsuccessfully but once you figure out that konami code baby you got hope. So you need to do some inner soul searching, some real world trial and errors and take what you learn to find out your own code.

forgot to add something bout e-cigs

The first few days they taste pretty darn good. However as time goes by and you regain your sense of taste they start tasting bad like cigarettes will. Just worse and worse. (cigarettes will be awful- these just unpleasant but still needed for the fix don’t wanna be fighting too many battles at once). First drop the delivery system then attempt to drop the drug bcuz that way if you fail you fall back to a safe delivery awhich softens your landing.

I suppose the taste thing is a good side-effect because it helps you to use it less often.

It also has another cursed blessing as a side effect. Dry’s out your mouth like smoking does but sense your senses are heightened you are much more aware of the thirst/dryness so it forces you to drink much more water therby flushing you out healing you up faster.

i also used Marijuana to help me quit. I read an article on reuters that said that Marijuana + Cigarettes is the WORST!. Weed sensitizes your lung sacs and opens them. Leaving them more vulnerable. Since Marijuana doesn’t have carcinogens that Cigs do, it doesn’t damage your lungs significantly. But weed and cigs together leaves your lung sacs filled with way more tar. I noticed i was getting a head-ache EVERY DAY. I couldn’t function normally. As soon as i quit smoking cigs, I was free from those symptoms. Marijuana helps me to this day.
