The best way to quit smoking without putting weight on?

October 17th, 2009 | by Jeff Trikoleti |

Any Tips? I tried at the beginning of the year but put on about half a stone in 6 weeks. I need some advise before I try again.

Thanks in advance :-) Hi All, Thanks for answering but this question is more of a ‘how to stop smoking’ question rather than a dieting question! I’m not looking for a diet!

Eat healthy and stay active, this will definitely help keep the weight off. If you have sugary cravings, eat some fruit which has natural sugars, or have some gum.

instead or replacing your smoking addiction to food, lead to gum.
Not high sugary gums, just like mint ones
    like excel and trident. =]

You know that smoking suppresses appetite right? and that usually leads to weight gain by most people quitting on smoking, because their appetite is increased.

The thing you need to do is replace that with something that can suppress your appetite. You need to get off on smoking, its really bad. Try drinking mild coffee when you get the urge to smoke.

Weight gain is a normal side effect of quitting. Don’t worry about it: quitting is harder than losing weight. Quit first, and then, when you’re comfortable, lose the weight. I recommend Chantix, believe it’s callled Champix where you are.
